A quick review and round-up of the matches from UFC's mostly enjoyable "124" event:

Audinwood vs. Makdessi:
An entertaining stand-up war to start off this huge event. Some incredible striking and techniques on display from Makdessi. 3/5

TJ Grant vs. Ricardo Almeida:
Straightforward grappling and a unanimous decision goes to the right fighter. 2/5

Matt Riddle vs. Sean Pierson:
Things are heating up now. A very entertaining bout with some good striking and wrestling. 3/5

Jesse Bongfeldt vs. Rafael Natal:
A controvertial ending, perhaps? Some believe so, but I believe this draw was justified. I gave one round to Bongfeldt, one to Natal and a draw for the other, so ... nothing much else to report. Both men's strategies equalled each other out, despite Natal looking far more 'blown out' towards the end. 2/5

Mark Bocek vs. Dustin Hazelett:
A very good display of Brazilian Ju-Jitsu in this one. A quick and satisfying submission finish, too! 3/5

Joe Doerksen vs. Dan Miller:
Perhaps the most boring fight on the card. Nothing much happens besides ground control. I'm really surprised the referee did not stand both men up when given the opportunity. 1/5

Thiago Alves vs. John Howard:
A great match, and Alves is on TOP form here. Crisp, accurate striking and superb energy and enthusiasm throughout makes this one a great watch. 4/5

Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig:
This one ends very quickly with a surprising KO. Good stuff. 3/5

Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira:
Miller shows why he's one of the best in the Lightweight Division in this superb display of grappling. Very entertaining. 3/5

Stefan Struve vs. Sean McCorkle:
Good wrestling and hard striking make this a very satisfying and fun to watch Heavyweight Bout. 3/5

Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck:
As always, St. Pierre puts on a clinic, with superb jabs and great standup. Koscheck also suffers a nasty broken orbital bone after the very first punch of the fight! A great display from St. Pierre, and a very good main event to finish. 4/5

So, the main events were FAR better than the Prelims, even though some of the Prelims were entertaining. Overall, it's worth the purchase to see St. Pierre put on a SHOW in the final match.
